A.7801 au musée du tram vicinal

A.7801

Current state:

Riding

Cattle wagon, built in 1899 by the « Ateliers Dyle & Bacalan » workshops in Leuven. Of large dimensions, it is equipped with radial axles of the system invented by the Belgian engineer François De Rechter.

This mechanism allows each axles to rotate, which made easier to pass through tight curves.

The A.7801 belongs to a small series of wagons specially built to carry cattle. Notice the 4 hatches at the bottom of the body, it was used to easily evacuate the soiled cattle bedding.

The A.7801 was saved by our organisation at the Quaregnon depot in 1977.
